About Tipton (continued...)

The area has excellent rail links which are benefiting from significant investment in the West Coast Mainline which runs through the town. There are two stations: Tipton Owen Street and Dudley Port. The former is currently being redeveloped as a transport hub. The next stop down the line is Sandwell and Dudley which connects directly with London Euston.

The modern Metro tramline also provides easy communication with Birmingham and Wolverhampton – Tipton lies midway between the two cities.

Tipton is one of the six towns comprising the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, the others being: Oldbury, Rowley Regis, Smethwick, Wednesbury and West Bromwich. Tipton is situated in the north east of the borough and is bounded by the neighbouring boroughs of Dudley, Wolverhampton and Walsall.
