New Year, New Challenges…
Hello and Happy 2018!
Hopefully you enjoyed your Christmas break and are excited to be back with us this year.
First, just a quick reminder that our Anchor Section is still pretty full, but there are still plenty of spaces in our Junior Section (for boys and girls) and Company Section (boys only at this moment in time), so if you know anyone who may be interested, bring them along! For more details on uniform, age groups and times look under the Brigade section of the Church Website.
Before we talk about January, a throwback to December when we had a major snowfall that unfortunately led to the Anchor & Junior sections’ Christmas Party being cancelled, along with the Company Section 10 Pin Bowling competition. However, Juniors & Company Section were still able to enjoy Laser Quest & McDonalds and the Anchor & Junior sections enjoyed a New Year party to make up for their Christmas loss. Moving onto January’s events, we would like to congratulate Jack, Harrison, Callum and Amoy for participating in the Battalion table tennis competition. We congratulate Amoy especially who was runner up in his age group. Also just into February, some of our Juniors enjoyed the Battalion fun day taking part in a range of sports activities at Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre followed by an hour in the swimming pool. Also congratulations to Jack, Cameron, Harrison & Ciaran who represented the company in the delayed Battalion 10 Pin Bowling competition.
Coming up later into February, the Battalion chess competition will be held, where Simeon Ambrose will represent us in the Juniors competition while Jack Newton will represent us in the Company/Senior section competition. If you have any further questions about any of these events, please don’t hesitate to ask your son/daughter’s section leader.
Also we are pleased to have 3 Company Section boys taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and are looking forward to various expeditions and challenges they will face this year.
Make sure your look out for March’s Brigade blog to catch up with all our latest news.
Bye for now!
